Should I Forgive?

Due to severe rain that fell before and during the closing hour on Sunday, worship was categorised as having mixed feelings.
If you reside in Rivers State, Nigeria, you are aware of what that means. As I was leaving the church after the service, a Lorry just pulled into my lane and sprayed water all over my outfit. I believe it was a bad idea responding to such wickedness with even greater wickedness. However, i took the decision to forgive even though it was unpleasant to learn from the experience. The question "Should I Forgive?" crossed my mind at that moment. About the author

Forgiveness is the only option if you identify as a Christian. Both the husband and the wife must learn to forgive one another. The same is true of all other relationships, including those in the workplace, family, and churches. Let God handle the retaliation rather than meddling with things that are beyond our power as children of the kingdom.

When it comes to forgiving, I wish more people were like me. It might be excruciatingly unpleasant to have to forgive someone who intentionally hurt you. According to the Bible, keeping our spiritual stability depends on forgiving others.

Over the years, I've developed a limitless capacity for forgiveness. Forgiveness is very much feasible because of the presence of God's spirit within believers. Whether you pass this test will determine if you are a child of God. The spirit of God cannot dwell within you, and you are quite at ease leading an unforgiving lifestyle. It is sinful to hold grudges.

What does the Bible says about forgiving others? Does the Bible contain verses that support or refute forgiveness?  Let's explore this subject further. Specifically, let's concentrate on the following four highly relevant Bible verses:

1) LUKE 6:37; Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

2) MATTHEW 6:14-15; For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

3) COLOSSIANS 3:13; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

4) EPHESIANS 4:32; And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

All of these biblical scriptures emphasise the same idea, that's much is certain. That forgiveness should be an act of love towards those who have wronged us. And those of us who seek God's forgiveness must always forgive, no matter how serious the offence. It might be challenging to forget what had happened but let us be willing to forgive for the benefit of our relationship with God and our mental wellness.

We must let go of anger, bitterness, and resentment and retaliation at all costs. If we fail to pardon others for their sins, God will never accept any justification for our failure. Those who have been forgiven must always forgive others.

Although, it can be a long-time struggles, forgiveness is a must for God's children. It is important to take into account our own conscience and spiritual state. By forgiving others, we release ourselves from the past and set ourselves up for freedom. We also allow God's love, which has the ability to heal, to flow through us. We must forgive if we want to receive God's forgiveness and the freedom and restoration that comes with it.

Below, I have distilled the Bible's teaching on forgiveness into a more digestible form for everyone's understanding.

* Stress reduction and anxiety are benefits of forgiveness. In this instance, holding onto anger and resentment might have a negative impact on our mental and physical health.

* No matter how difficult it may seem, you must forgive if you want things to change.

* Unlike proteins, forgiveness has a greater impact on our wellbeing as a whole.

* It improves our relationships with God and others. When we forgive someone, it opens the door to reconciliation and a restored relationship.

* By forgiving one another, one can mend old wounds and create stronger, more lasting bonds of trust.

* As is usually the case, it draws us nearer to God. By forgiving, we are following Jesus's example, who forgave those who rejected and betrayed Him.

* Giving forgiveness is a means for us to demonstrate our love for God and our desire to follow His teachings.

In the teachings of our Lord Jesus, which are widely regarded as the Lord's prayer; He says, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.”  Please take courage and think about the advantages of forgiving someone if they have wronged you. The fact is this, despite being bitter, it's better. Both the spiritual and physical benefits accrue. About Don Victor Ministries
