What Goes Through The Mind Of Someone Who Rejects God?

A few days ago, I asked this question on Quora, and the overwhelming number of comments I received from people of many nationalities and religious backgrounds astounded me. It becomes vital to respond as simply as possible in the context of God's word. I beg you to read through this post slowly and allow God to speak to your heart.

When you reject God, you reject all of God's blessings as well. For instance, peace of mind, divine direction, understanding, knowledge, and wisdom, and most importantly, the salvation of human souls, come from God.

God is the creator and the maker of all things. Without God, it is impossible for anyone to truly function or experience satisfaction in life. I'm not going to dismiss the possibility that people reject God for intricate and personal reasons. That, however, is wholly inconsistent with the biblical perspective.

Moreover, there is no single explanation that can provide clarity for opposing God. Some of the replies I got suggested that the causes varied from person to person and were typically based on unfavorable opinions of God. The arguments that best explain this are those presented below.

1. Vain Riches: Some people felt that they were perfectly content living their lives without God and thought they had everything they could ever need. They believe they are moral people who can live happy and fulfilled lives on their own, apart from the help of God. This is a deceptive result of the vain riches the Lord Jesus shared in the parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:16–21. The guy appeared intelligent, which is ironic given that he was able to amass wealth and be successful as a farmer and businessman. You can learn about self-serving hollow wealth, relying on God's way of wealth, and the reason the rich man was referred to as a fool by reading the entire chapter of the referenced scripture. No matter what a man has, he can never add a single hour to his span of life.

2 Ignorance Of God's Existence:

Nothing is as destructive as ignorance, and even God's own people could only be annihilated by ignorance. On Quora, I came across the following question: 'Why hasn't science been able to prove the existence of God?' Another reason why people reject God and His existence is because they base their decisions on scientific facts. This is what I have to say: Science is a method of inquiry that deploys observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning to try to understand the natural world. Science will not be able to prove or disprove the existence of God. God is a supernatural being who controls the spiritual and natural worlds.

Despite the fact that there are many arguments both for and against the existence of God, none of them hold up. It need confidence in what the Bible teaches about God and oneself to acknowledge and believe in God's existence. Since science cannot establish or refute God's existence, each and every one of us must make up our minds regarding our religious convictions, particularly in light of our personal knowledge of the Bible.

The Bible, however, provides clear and convincing proof of God's existence and how to believe in and accept God. In Genesis, chapter one, God created the universe and everything that is. The Bible also says that God is our creator; "Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee." Hehemiah 9:6.

3) Guilt: One reason why people reportedly reject God and turn away from Him is guilt. It is said that a guilty conscience needs no accusation. Guilt is translated as sin in many contexts. Guilt is the condition that follows the act of sin. This is what the Bible says in Psalms 32:2: Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit, there is no guile.

Here, I outline some of the detrimental effects of guilt and sadness:

1) If we don't act quickly, guilt could leave a long-lasting mark on our conscience.

2) Weakness brought on by guilt can make it challenging to move forward in life. It might feel like a huge burden on one's shoulders.

3) It can be difficult to sustain peace of mind when we are constantly tormented by guilt, which can make us lose our composure.

4) By its very nature, guilt can create a lifelong psychological scar that makes it impossible for us to trust God, ourselves, or other people.

5) Guilt can seem like a cage that keeps us confined to our own minds and keeps us from fully experiencing life. The complex, guilty natures mentioned above must be avoided.

(i) Sadness is the condition or quality of being sad.

(ii) Sadness has severe detrimental effects on our relationship with God and other people if it is not avoided early.

(iii) Sadness makes one believe that nothing will ever get better. This could lead to a sense of hopelessness and helplessness, which can make it difficult to turn to God for help.

(iv) Sadness can impair one's ability to think properly or make wise decisions. As a result, decisions may be made that one will later regret, such as disobeying God or harming innocent people.

(v) Sadness will undoubtedly result in negative attitudes and thoughts about God and us. When we're sad, we may begin to have bad thoughts about God and ourselves. We can think that God doesn't love us or care about us because we are unworthy of his love. These unfavorable ideas can harm our relationship with God and make it challenging to accept God.

If you have any of these symptoms, I strongly suggest you seek help. Discuss your difficulties with a close relative, a coworker at work, or a revered servant of God for prayers. You probably aren't aware that a problem is solved when it is shared. It's not necessary for you to go through this alone, my brothers and sisters; there is hope for you.
